Welcome to The Greenbank Folk Club
Bristol’s new, alternative folk club. Reviving the radical spirit of 60s and 70s folk clubs — and reimagining it for the communities shaping Bristol today.
Who we are
Greenbank Folk Club is Bristol’s new alternative, queer-led folk club dedicated to reimagining the spirit of the 1960s and 70s folk revival for the 21st century. We’re inspired by the communal, DIY culture of those early gatherings and we’re bringing that ethos forward with a radical inclusivity that reflects the communities shaping folk music today.
As a queer-led space, we celebrate the full spectrum of identities and experiences that make up Bristol’s vibrant cultural landscape. We aim to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to step forward — whether you want to sing, listen, collaborate, learn or simply belong.
Through regular sessions, concerts, workshops, and ceilidhs we’re building a community that honours tradition while opening doors to what folk can become next. Expect songs with history, stories with heart, tunes with spirit and lovely nights filled with warmth, humour, and connection.
Greenbank Folk Club is more than meets the eye — it’s a gathering place, a creative commons, a revival of something old and a spark of something new. Everyone is welcome. Bring a song, bring a tune, bring a story, bring yourself.
